Ford 1942 Business Coupe

Project update 2000-03-10  Made a quick and dirty upgrade, so you can see that I'm still working:-)

Here you can see the piece i replaced, on the inner bottom part of the rear lid (boot lid)

Almost ready, i took a piece from a Tudor boot lid. That's the reason for the odd shape of the right piece. When I'm ready it will look "original" apparently there is a difference between the pressings on the coupe and the Tudor sedan.
Four inches of fresh metal, fills the gap in the bottom of the rear lid.

This is the hole the lid will fill, I had to replace the lip toward the rear window with fresh tin. The rear corners where eaten to.
Before i started work on the rear end, i replaced the drip rails. I had a friend of mine made the profiles. But i had to fit them myself, by splitting the side panel and roof. And the welding it together again..

Its a bad picture, but it gives a flavor on how the new drip rail looks (fits).
The front corners where not free from the red cancer either :-)
